Srinagar, Dec 15 (KNO): The Jammu and Kashmir Chief Secretary, Arun Kumar Mehta has asked the School Education Department to load the expenditure on salaries of the teachers borne on the Samagra Shiksha scheme on the Capex side of the budget instead of on the Opex budget.
The news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) has learnt that the Chief Secretary has said this in a review meeting held earlier with the School Education Department.
On responding to the issues regarding charging the expenditure on account of salary of the teachers under Samagra Shiksha on the Capex budget, Mehta said, “The chair directed the department to load the expenditure on salaries of the teachers borne on the Samagra Shiksha scheme on the Capex side of the budget instead of on the Opex budget.”
In the meantime top officials in the Jammu and Kashmir administration told KNO that the revenue which the School Education Department was receiving was not getting utilized as per the revenue.
The official said, “While all the teachers in the School Education Department have been regularized, we have given a sort of financial support to these teachers.”
“We will try to transfer Rs 500-600 crores annually to the School Education Department so that the assistance we are getting under the centrally sponsored scheme Samagra Shiksha will continue.”
“It is a part of general budget now and it will go through the same channel now,” the official said.—(KNO)
